Parts on the shelf, not on backorder
Most RC buying has moved online, and for a complete truck that works fine. Parts are a different problem. An A-arm snaps on a Saturday morning, the truck is out of action, and the choice is a week of shipping or a shop that has the part in a drawer.
That is the part of the business we take seriously. We stock replacement parts, hop-ups and hardware rather than only complete models, and if we do not have something we can order it in. For anyone in Idaho Falls, Shelley or Pocatello, a half-hour drive usually beats waiting on a box.
Before you drive over
Call (208) 684-3300 with the model and the part, or the part number off the exploded view. We can confirm it is in the drawer before you make the trip, and pull it out ready.
Batteries and charging
We carry LiPo packs and Traxxas EZ-Peak chargers. If you are new to LiPo, it is worth a conversation at the counter — connector type, cell count and charge rate all need to match the truck and the charger, and getting it wrong is an expensive way to learn.
Bring the truck in
Diagnosing an RC problem over the phone is slow. Bringing the truck in is faster: we can look at what actually broke, check a replacement part against the one that came off, and tell you whether it is worth repairing or upgrading.
New to Traxxas?
The Slash 4X4 is the model most people start with, and there is a reason for it — four wheel drive is more forgiving for a beginner, and parts support is excellent. Stampede 4X4 gives more suspension travel for rough ground, Rustler 4X4 is quicker on hard-packed surfaces, and Maxx is a larger platform for people who already know what they want.
Come in and we will talk through which suits where you are actually going to run it.
◆ Questions
Traxxas questions.
Is B&L Specialties an authorized Traxxas dealer?
Yes. B&L Specialties is an authorized Traxxas dealer in Blackfoot, Idaho, carrying complete models along with replacement parts, batteries and accessories.
Do you stock Traxxas replacement parts, or only complete trucks?
We stock replacement parts, hop-ups and hardware as well as complete models. Keeping parts on the shelf is the point of a local shop, since a broken truck on a Saturday is not much use waiting on a shipment.
Which Traxxas models do you carry?
Commonly Slash 4X4, Rustler 4X4, Stampede 4X4 and Maxx. Stock rotates, so call (208) 684-3300 to confirm a specific model is on the floor before driving over.
Can you order a Traxxas part you do not have in stock?
Yes. Special orders are welcome. Call with the part number or bring the truck in and we can work out what it needs.
Do you sell LiPo batteries and chargers?
Yes. We carry LiPo packs and Traxxas EZ-Peak chargers, along with bodies, tires, wheels and radios.
Can I bring my truck in for help diagnosing a problem?
Bring it in. It is usually faster to look at the truck than to work through it over the phone, and we can check parts against what you are replacing.
